Delayed Tension Pneumothorax after Subelavian Vein Catheterization in Patient with Pneumonectomy

Abstract
Central vein catheterization has been used for the hemodynamic monitoring of critically ill patients and the continuous administration of blood and fluids in shocked patients.
Subclavian vein catheterization is considered to be the golden route of venous access, but the most common complication is pneumothorax. Especially delayed pneumothorax in the pleural space. Thus initial postinsertion chest x-ray may not detect
this may
make this complication life threatening in patient who underwent pneumonectomy.
We report that delayed tension pneumothorax after subclavian vein catheterization was early detected and treated.
